In Decanter's April 2019 issue, 89 Chilean Carmenere wines were tasted by Alistair Cooper MW, Peter Richards MW and Dirceu Vianna Junior MW.
Richards described it as a "tricky grape to get right, but Chile’s winemakers are the best-placed in the world to do so... And as research develops, the quality bar gets ever higher."
Vina Sutil, Carmenere Limited Release, 2017 scored 87 points.
"An attractive, sophisticated nose; aromas of dark fruits, cherries, plums and spice. Muscular style palate with an earthy character and focus."
