Villachica is located opposite the river Duero, the name refers to Luis Villachica, the first owner of the land who bought it during the expropriation of Mendizábal in the XIX century.
Vineyards were planted here in the 1980s and the first vintage was bottled in 1990. Since then they have worked hand in hand with nine local winegrowers across 60 hectacres of vines between 15 to 90 years of age. All the vines are goblet trained and sit between 690-72- metres high.
The Tina de Toro grapes are hand harvested and create the intensely aromatic, very fruity and concentrated red wine that we are importing, made by winemaker Pedro Arranz.
