Champagne Castelnau has added an Extra Brut to its range in response to increased demand for the brand and a marked uplift in sales of the ultra-dry style.

With a dosage of 2 grams per litre, the Extra Brut is perfect either as an aperitif or for food-matching. In keeping with Champagne Castelnau’s signature style of long lees ageing, the new Extra Brut is matured on its lees for seven years, giving an added level of complexity and a perfect balance between maturity and freshness. Chef de Caves Elisabeth Sarcelet has blended 45% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir and 45% Pinot Meunier, of which 20% is reserve wines, to create delicacy on the nose and finesse on the palate.

Champagne Castelnau Extra Brut is available to our UK customers from this month and is dressed to match the rest of the range in the eye-catching contemporary packaging launched last year.
